History

28 years of haute couture fabrics

Everything begins with a piece of fabric. A “coupon” is the technical term for a piece of fabric with certain dimensions (300 x 140 cm, or 450 cm x 90 cm).

In 1992 Gustav Zumsteg gave us the opportunity to sell the coupons of his Silk House Abraham in Zurich. And so was born the name for our fabric store le coupon.

10 years later

In 2002, the story of Abraham ended, but ours did not. By now, Ruth Bächtold successfully continued le coupon by establishing more and more wide-ranging and ever closer relationships with various fabric manufacturers and suppliers.

Today, the couturière Rosmarie Amacher runs the established business together with Nicole Zolliker. Due to steady growth, today not only coupons are sold. Our offer includes a rich selection of over 4000 stock, scrap, small and large materials.

Slowfabrics

With Slowfabrics, Le Coupon is now launching its own sustainably produced fabric collection, based on the old patterns of the Wiener Werkstätten wooden printing blocks and reinterpreting them with fresh and creative ideas.
